Terms of Service

1. Parties and Scope
These Terms of Service govern the rights and obligations between Köken Akademi ("Platform") and individuals who register on and/or use the Platform ("User").
By registering on or using the Platform, you are deemed to have accepted these terms. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the Platform.
2. Service Provider Information
Pursuant to Article 3 of Law No. 5651 and the Law on Regulation of Electronic Commerce No. 6563:

3. Definitions
- Platform: The website accessible via kokenakademi.com domain and all its sub-pages
- User: Any natural person who accesses and/or registers on the Platform
- Content: Courses, lessons, videos, articles, and other educational materials offered on the Platform
- Account: The personal account created by the User to access the Platform
4. Membership and Account Security
- To register on the Platform, you must be at least 18 years old or have the consent of a legal guardian.
- It is the User's responsibility to ensure that information provided during registration is accurate and up-to-date.
- Account credentials (email and password) are personal and must not be shared with third parties.
- You are responsible for all activities conducted through your account.
- If you detect unauthorized access to your account, you must immediately notify us at info@kokenakademi.com.
5. Scope of Services
The Platform provides the following services:
- Science-based educational content in psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and therapy
- Video lessons and course programs
- Course progress tracking and certification services
- Blog and knowledge-sharing platform
The Platform reserves the right to modify the scope, pricing, and features of its services with prior notice.
6. Intellectual Property Rights
- All content on the Platform (courses, videos, texts, images, logos, designs) is the intellectual property of Köken Akademi or its licensors.
- Copying, reproducing, distributing, publishing, or creating derivative works from the content is prohibited.
- Users may only use purchased or accessed content for their personal education purposes.
- Recording content through screen recording, audio recording, or other methods and sharing it is prohibited.
7. User Obligations
The User agrees to comply with the following rules when using the Platform:
- Comply with the legislation of the Republic of Turkey and international law
- Respect the rights and privacy of other users
- Not share misleading, insulting, inappropriate, or illegal content
- Not engage in activities that jeopardize Platform security
- Not use automated data collection tools (bots, crawlers, etc.)
- Not attempt unauthorized access to other users' accounts
8. Paid Services and Payment
The Platform may offer both free and paid courses.
- Prices of paid courses are clearly stated on the course page (VAT included).
- Payment transactions are processed through secure payment infrastructure.
- Upon completion of purchase, an order confirmation will be sent via email pursuant to Law No. 6563.
9. Right of Withdrawal
Pursuant to the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Distance Contracts Regulation:
- For digital content (online courses), service performance is deemed to have begun upon accessing the content.
- The User may exercise the right of withdrawal within 14 days before the performance of digital content begins.
- After accessing the content (starting to watch the course), the right of withdrawal expires pursuant to Article 15/g of the Distance Contracts Regulation.
- You may submit your withdrawal request in writing to info@kokenakademi.com.
10. Limitation of Liability
- While the Platform exercises utmost care regarding the accuracy and timeliness of educational content, it declares that the content does not replace medical, psychological, or professional counseling.
- Information provided on the Platform is for general informational purposes. We recommend consulting relevant experts for professional support needs.
- The Platform is not responsible for temporary access interruptions due to technical infrastructure issues.
- The Platform is not responsible for the content of third-party sites accessed through links on the Platform.
11. Account Suspension and Termination
- The Platform may suspend or terminate user accounts that violate these terms with prior notice.
- Users may request account closure at any time.
- In case of account closure, personal data is processed in accordance with KVKK provisions.
12. Dispute Resolution
For disputes arising from these terms:
- Under Law No. 6502, Consumer Arbitration Committees or Consumer Courts have jurisdiction depending on the dispute amount.
- Monetary thresholds for Consumer Arbitration Committee applications are updated annually by the Ministry of Commerce.
- You may also file complaints through the Consumer Information System.
13. Amendments
The Platform reserves the right to update these Terms of Service as needed. Significant changes will be announced on the Platform before taking effect. Continuing to use the Platform after updates means you accept the amended terms.
14. Effective Date
These Terms of Service come into effect on the date of publication on the Platform and become binding upon acceptance by the User.
